ADC Night 2019 - Top 3 ADC 2018 & ADCE Awards 2018

For the third year in a row, ADC Romania awarded the big winners of Top 3 ADC*RO 2018 and the shortlisted campaigns from ADCE Awards 2018 festival. Art Director of the Year is Raluca Circo (McCann Worldgroup Romania), Ioana Munteanu (GMP + WEBSTYLER) is Copywriter of the Year, Client of the Year is Coca-Cola and Idea of the Year is #TraiascaCapraVecinului. At ADCE Awards 2018 Romania won a Silver and 6 nominations. The event was called ADC Night 2019 and took place on on 13th of February at Institute The Café.

Top 3 ADC acknowledges the creative projects which have appeared over the year. More precisely, the projects we observe on market or the ones sent to us for voting. I think it’s important to realize where our advertising industry stands; to see if we are better with video campaigns than we are with the radio ones. Perhaps we are stronger on study cases and weaker on print executions. But, overall, this is the best occasion to gather around and talk about how to become better creatives and better people, leaving aside the competition and the ego.” - Valentin Suciu, President of ADC Romania & Creative Partner at Jazz Communication.

Art Director of the Year 2018 is Raluca Circo (McCann Worldgroup Romania). Projects she worked for: Coca-Cola SEEN (Campaign of the Month – February), Coca-Cola - #samefeeling (Campaign of the Month – October) and two mentions for Star Fun – Battle (Jazz) and KFC - Booster Limited.

Ioana Munteanu (GMP + WEBSTYLER) is Copywriter of the Year with: 2nd place for KFC Smart Menu – January and KFC – Altceva (Something else) – March; and Campaign of the Month for PressOne - #TraiascaCapraVecinului (November) & PressOne - #TraiascaCapraVecinului with brands (December).

Idea of the year: #TraiascaCapraVecinului - twice the Campaign of the Month (for the first time in Top 3 ADC). The campaign has a powerful insight and a strong wish to bring brands together for a fair play competition where they can grow and evolve. The anti-envy campaign was made by GMP + WEBSTYLER (team: Lucian Cernat, Cosmin Nicola, George Popa | Art Directors & Diana Nica, Ioana Munteanu | Copywriters) for PressOne in an attempt to use the insight which shows that envy is something very popular among Romanians and to bring different brands together. And the results were that many brands like KFC & McDonalds, BMW & Porsche or Timisoreana Beer joined the cause.

Client of the Year is Coca-Cola with 4 awarded campaigns in Top 3 ADC*RO 2018: SEEN (Campaign of the Month – February), The Cans Album (2nd place in July), Next Big Vlogger is Back (2nd place in September) and Coca-Cola -#samefeeling (Campaign of the Month – October) by MRM//McCann & McCann Worlgroup Romania agencies.

Some of the most present agencies in Top 3 ADC last year were: McCann Worldgroup Romania, followed by Jazz Communication, MRM//McCann, GMP + WEBSTYLER and Headvertising.

Another pleasant surprise during ADC Night were Romania’s winners and nominees at ADCE Awards 2018 festival, organized by Art Directors Club of Europe: one Silver and six nominations. Live. From a Different World (by McCann Worldgroup Romania for Vodafone Romania) won a Silver in Promotions & New Media category and Live Stunts subcategory and a nomination in Integration & Innovation category - Social Responsibility Campaigns subcategory. The campaign brought together the local, isolated craftspeople with the busy young people from the urban through live Facebook videos.

Romania’s shortlisted campaigns were:

1. MullenLowe has a nomination in Promotions & New Media // Promotions with the campaign Unofficial Partners - Electric Castle. MullenLowe came up with the idea to get the Monday off from work for those who want to stay until the end at Electric Castle.

2. Grolsch - Awake Your Curiosity Experiment by Kubis Interactive got a nomination in Promotions & New Media category - Live Stunts subcategory. Grolsch and Kubis Interactive turned music into math through attention, meditation and emotion’s intensity.

3. Veggie Heroes for Mega Image by McCann Worldgroup Romania has a nomination in Promotions & New Media // New Use of Media. McCann Worldgroup Romania created a campaign where a serious insight about childhood obesity becomes an interactive story for children.

4. Another shortlisted campaign is The Survivors by Mercury 360 for Romanian Police in Integration & Innovation category, Public Service & Charity Campaigns subcategory – about the first outdoor museum of car seats, where the survivor of a car accident is the car seat instead of the driver.

5. McCann Worldgroup Romania has a third nomination in Integration & Innovation // Public Service & Charity Campaigns for Brave Cut - made for Fundatia Renasterea – a national campaign about solidarity among women through donation in the form of an asymmetrical cut.

ADC Romania continues its public call for ideas where agencies, freelancers and advertising aficionados can send creative initiatives of their own or seen in the industry. These ideas will be voted by ADC*RO members.
