Art Directors Club Romania has a New Board

The new managing board of the Art Directors Club Romania for the following two years consists of Valentin Suciu (Creative Partner Jazz Communication), Radu Pilat (Managing Partner Heist Industries) and Șerban Alexandrescu (Associate & Executive Creative Director Headvertising)

Who needs an association made of senior creatives in these times we live in? I think everyone. The communication we had until now will change completely in 2020. Even if we need to stay away from each other, we have never been closer. We have never been more equal against an economic disaster, even if we are part of an independent network or a multinational corporation, freelancers or employees. For this ego industry, the time we live in right now is an unprecedented opportunity to collaborate. And it’s also an opportunity for all all ADC*RO members to reinvent in the same way as the communication industry is reinventing itself. So stay tuned.” says Valentin Suciu.

Valentin Suciu has been chosen - for the second time - president of the ADC*RO. Between D’Arcy (the agency where he began to gain his creative reputation, in 1999) and Jazz (the agency he co-founded), Valentin has contributed to many projects that won awards in the most important advertising festivals, from Gold to CannesLions to Grand Effie. His soul project is Together for Magic Home.

Along with Valentin Suciu, Radu Pilat and Șerban Alexandrescu join as vice-presidents. They will be involved in the ADC*RO’s activity in order to maintain and improve the mission of the association in the advertising industry.

Radu Pilat started in 2002 in the creative department at McCann Erickson. After 8 years and many awards and clients like Coca-Cola, BURN Energy Drink, Fanta, Sprite, Stella Artois, Golden Brau, Heineken, Tomi, Unilever, Radu accepted the challenge to become Chief Creative Officer at Momentum. In 2012 he wanted more so he began his entrepreneurial adventure: Heist Industries, the only agency in Romania specialized in community marketing. At the moment, the Heist Industries brand portfolio counts brands like: Desperados, Julius Meinl, Muller Dairy, Jaguar Land Rover, Baneasa Shopping City etc.

Radu: ”Advertising should be one of the most progressive vectors of a society. There is a need for paradigm shifts, new ways of working, thinking and approaching things, both globally and locally. ADC*RO has to become a key element of change. From a restructured school to new initiatives, projects and visions, I think ADC*RO can be the engine that Romanian advertising industry needs.

Șerban Alexandrescu began as copywriter at Graffiti/BBDO in 1994, then he became Creative Director at Young & Rubicam. In 1998 he founded Headvertising, the first „creative shop” in the Romanian advertising industry. He was vice-president of Romanian Advertising Agencies Association and the first president of Art Directors Club of Romania. He taught screenwriting and advertising at the University of Theatre and Film ”I.L. Caragiale” Bucharest. Since 2008, he teaches at ADC*RO School.

Creatives bring a lot of value to the advertisers. But the way and the intensity with which they are used at the moment are no longer sustainable. We need to change something for the future of this entire industry. The faster, the better. It’s almost the same as the “climate change” but not about temperature, carbon dioxide and forests. It’s about time, money and the people that work in agencies.” tells us Șerban Alexandrescu
